Cleveland is the city that we come from…

and our web designs show that we are proud of it!

Cleveland is one of the coolest cities in America, and people are starting to take notice. Numerous publications like Forbes magazine have touted Cleveland as a comeback city, and if you’ve lived in Cleveland for your entire life, you know that the difference is palpable.  They used to call us a pretty bad nickname. Now they call us a city on the rise.

And it has to do with more than just that guy who wore #23.

Take a look at digital marketing in Cleveland.  Some of the brightest names in Digital Marketing, like Amanda Todorovich of the Cleveland Clinic and Michael Helbling of Search Discovery have roots here.  Every year, Content Marketing World assembles some of the brightest talent in the industry in Downtown Cleveland, making it the epicenter of the digital world. Cleveland’s digital footprint is large, and growing, just like the rest of the area’s business community.

And then there are the websites.  Cleveland is also home to some incredible websites that can be a virtual tour guide for you.  Whether you are looking to see some cool sites or get some photos done while you’re here, we’ve got a list of some Cleveland web design examples that will knock your socks off.

Take a virtual trip through some of the places and business that make Cleveland such a cool place to be with Company 119’s Top Cleveland Web Designs.

You’re going to need something to do!

Best Tourism Site: https://www.thisiscleveland.com/

The Homepage Header says it all: “Make No Mistake. This is Cleveland”.  This site is your one stop shop to find out everything there is to know about the events and entertainment scene in the city.  The easy to navigate web design gives you plenty to choose from. Things To Do, Eat + Drink, Where To Stay, Planning tools- they are all here on the site.  With great photography and a fun layout, the Cleveland Visitors Bureau really captures the vibe of the city. It also makes it easy to get involved with the volunteering aspect of the business and gives you a chance to be an ambassador.  Balancing the user experience for those visiting and those living in the city can be tough, but this Cleveland web design nails it!

We’ve got some incredible attractions!

Best Museum/Attraction Site: http://www.cbgarden.org/

The Cleveland Botanical Garden is stunning.  It’s center piece, the glasshouse, is always full of bright colors and inviting plants and flowers all year round.  There is so much to do during a visit that you could easily overlook some of the great features of the center. That’s why this site is so important.  With helpful maps and planning resources, the site is a fully-functional pocket tour guide. And with beautiful photography and an easy to use mobile interface, the Cleveland Botanical Garden website makes your visit to this indoor paradise a breeze

Might as well get a degree while you’re here!

Best College/Academic Website: https://www.csuohio.edu/

Cleveland is home to some of the best colleges in the country.  Baldwin Wallace College, John Carroll University and Case Western Reserve University are all tremendous institutions with storied histories.  But Cleveland State University has undergone a renaissance, and their website reflects that. From a sliding header showcasing current news to large, colorful buttons and icons that guide you through everything from financial aid to measuring return on your collegiate investment, the site is progressive, modern and easy to navigate. The blog features really fun articles written by the faculty, and the Social Media Directory gives you a glimpse at all of the excitement you could be experiencing on campus.  Whether you are a current student, alumni or prospective Viking, the CSU website is a great tool to learn more about this great campus!

You’re gonna need some school clothes.

Best Shopping Center/Mall Website: www.legacy-village.com

Legacy Village is one of the premier luxury shopping experiences in Northeast Ohio, and the website design reflects that.  From classy fonts to stylized imagery, the website reflects the decadence of the outdoor mall on every page. This site truly makes planning a visit to the shopping mecca feel like you are planning a visit to a resort, even giving you access to local hotels in case your shopping excursion lasts past closing time! The interactive map even closes in on your chosen destination as you click on the vendor you are looking to find.  If shopping is your passion, this is the ultimate site for the ultimate shopper’s paradise.

All that shopping made me hungry.

Best Restaurant Website: https://meltbarandgrilled.com/

Fun. Bright. Vivid. Exactly what you expect from a place that specializes in, of all things, grilled cheese sandwiches. You can tell from looking at this website that there is something quite different about these unique takes on the classic after school treat! They’ve got local flavors, like a grilled cheese stuffed with perogies and a take on the po’ boy, but they’ve also sandwiches with a broad appeal, like the Elvis inspired peanut butter and banana.  Salads, burgers and mac and cheese round out the menu, which is easy to navigate, and even lets you know which options are vegetarian and vegan friendly. The site is also a great resource for those looking to book private events and fundraisers with informative videos and FAQ’s to help you understand how the process works.

All that grilled cheese, I could use a drink!

Best Bar/Pub website: http://www.societycleveland.com/

If you are looking for a unique experience when seeking out your libations, then look no further than Society Lounge. Located on E. 4th St., in the heart of Cleveland’s downtown entertainment district, Society Lounge harkens back to the era of the speakeasy. The “cast” as they refer to their staff, uses antique appliances and drink crafted tools that make the bar back era resemble more of an apothecary than a run of the mill bar. The site is unique in that it offers a virtual tour of the posh interior, and also offers a full menu, complete with icons to help you dissect your favorite potables.  This is a website as innovative and noir as the lounge it represents and gives you a great feel for what a visit to Society Lounge feels like.

Late Night Sweet-tooth?  We’ve got you covered.

Best Dessert/Snack Website: https://www.colossalcupcakes.com/

We didn’t show the banner at the top of the Home page, because let’s face it- you wanted to see some cupcakes.  From cupcakes to cakes and other sweets, downtown Cleveland’s Colossal Cupcakes has all the goods, and you’ll be willing to put the diet on permanent hold when you look at their site.  Thanks to the magic of the internet you can even use Grub Hub to order these treats right from your phone! They have two locations now, and the site makes it easy to find them, even noting that the downtown location is open late to accommodate those moonlight munchies.  The pictures alone make this site a favorite, but the mobile friendliness makes this site a tech success.

So what about these sports teams you’re always talking about?

Best Pro Sports Team Website: https://www.clevelandbrowns.com/

It’s really all about the elf.  The team with no mascot adopted this throwback elf from it’s past a few years ago, and the beloved “Brownie” has made it al the way to the top of the Homepage banner.  For the most part, websites for the big 4 sports leagues (NFL, NBA, MLB and NHL) are pretty standard and cookie cutter. But the Browns are Cleveland, and although there isn’t anything groundbreaking about the site, you can’t do a category about a Cleveland sports site and not put the Browns on it.

You’re going to need a soundtrack. Where can you find some music?

Best Music Blog: https://imfromcleveland.com/

Cleveland is the Rock N’ Roll capital of the world, but ever since Machine Gun Kelly dropped the Cleveland anthem “Till I Die” and it became the official soundtrack to the Cavaliers championship parade in 2016, Cleveland has been a hip-hop town. This site not only has the Spotify playlist “Cleveland Rooted” embedded on its homepage, but it’s also got the “Land Line” video series, highlighting local talent.  Rap is the new rock, and this site embraces Cleveland’s new musical legacy.

But what about the kiddos?

Best kid-friendly site: http://greaterclevelandaquarium.com/

The Home Page features a snorkeling Santa. But that’s not why they’re here.  They have cute cartoon icons of sea creatures. But that’s not why they are here. 24-hour Sharkcam- that’s why they make our list!  The Greater Cleveland Aquarium is a great place for kids to learn about all-things marine life, and their website continues that theme.  It’s easy to buy tickets and plan a day at the aquarium, but the real attraction here is the fact that every week is Shark Week with a 24-hour live camera placed in their shark habitat.  Kids like sharks- and this site likes kids. It shows with some fun features.
