Sloat Garden Centers

Website Design for the Bay Area’s Premier Garden Center

Redesigning a Beloved Brand for Modern Gardeners

For over 60 years, Sloat Garden Center has been the go-to garden destination for plant lovers throughout the Bay Area. With 13 full-service locations, a reputation for expert gardening advice, and an ever-growing offering of plants, pottery, and soils, Sloat needed a digital presence that matched the richness of their in-person experience. Company 119 reimagined their website design with two key goals: improve the front-end design for a more engaging customer experience, and streamline the back-end so their internal team could easily manage updates. The result is a vibrant, easy-to-navigate site that puts Sloat’s expertise—and love of gardening—front and center.

A Website Designed to Grow with Their Customers

From Garden Inspiration to Practical Know-How

Whether a user is looking for drought-tolerant plants, a new ceramic planter, or advice on when to prune, the redesigned website makes it easy to find. We organized Sloat’s vast library of educational content and product information into intuitive, searchable sections. Customers can browse plants by category, explore different soils and pottery, or find gardening tips based on season or plant type. The new Events Calendar makes it simple to discover upcoming workshops and webinars across locations, encouraging community involvement and ongoing learning.

Built for Gardeners, Built for Sloat

Making Multi-Location Management Simple

With 13 unique garden centers, it was critical for users to easily find the location nearest them—and for Sloat’s team to keep each one updated with specific offerings and hours. We implemented custom location pages that are easy to manage and consistently formatted for clarity and SEO. The website is also future-proofed. We built in custom functionality for a Calendly integration, enabling customers to schedule garden design consultations directly on the site once Sloat is ready to activate it.
